My name is Caleb Philander. I am 27 years old, born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. I have a well rounded skill set in content creation and development. I have been working in the video production space for the last 5 years, garnering experience in various fields, allowing me to understand the intricacies of the production process and how to realise a client's vision.

I am a seasoned videographer and have worked in multiple spheres of the profession such as corporate videos, events coverage, & short-form documentaries. I also directed, produced and hosted a YouTube channel that released weekly, high quality videos for 2 years.
Video Reel: Little snippets of different projects I have worked on. Everything you see in the video was recorded and edited by me personally - except the footage that has me in it (but even for a vast majority of those I was involved with lighting, framing etc. and on occasion recorded myself).

I have conceptualised numerous different projects for clients, directing and supervising all elements of the production from concept development to it's execution. I am comfortable pitching to clients, conducting interviews , managing a team and directing talent/subjects.
Case Study: A small snippet of a very difficult project I was the producer on. In summary, we had to rework Absa's annual sales collateral "road show" into a video production themed around superheroes (the pandemic being the reason for the show no longer being on the road and for the chosen Super Heroes theme, as many Absa employees were essential workers during the initial stages of lockdown). I was creative director on this project, and designed/supervised every element of its creation. I worked with a small creative team, and achieved this entire project working remotely, whilst abiding by all lockdown regulations.

I have often been in the unique(/unfortunate) position of being responsible for filming and editing the majority of productions I have been involved in. I think this has given me valuable insights not often held by other editors/producers/ videographers.
